Healthy Eating Tips

EAT GREEN – Green leafy vegetables such as spinach, collards, kale and broccoli are all low in calorie but are great sources of Vitamins A and C, folate, and lutein.

EAT YELLOW – Corn is a good source of zeaxanthin & lemons provide Vitamin C.

EAT RED – Fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, bell peppers, & tomatoes are great sources of Vitamin C.

EAT BLUE – Blueberries, or most berries are full of antioxidants that can protect your eyes from light damage.

EAT ORANGE – Carrots and winter squashes are great sources of Vitamin A, an essential nutrient for the eyes.

EAT HERBS – Herbs can be considered as a part of an eye-healthy diet in that most are packed with antioxidants, including lutein.

EAT FISH – The Omega-3 fats, EPA and DHA, in fish are good for your eyes. DHA is a key fatty acid found in the retina, and is present in large amounts in this tissue.
